Brilliant news – Tommy Robinson has been banned by Facebook.
In recent weeks he’s been more brazen in spreading his dangerous nonsense. He shared a photo of a rape charity advert which included a specialist line for black and minority ethnicities, claiming that the charity was anti-white. The hotline was overwhelmed with harassment from his supporters.
Not long after that he shared an advert for a Muslim-only fitness class – presumably one of many at the venue, and put on to make participants feel more comfortable – which led to his supporters harassing the instructor.
He has previously turned up at a car crash and put out video ‘journalism’ claiming that it was a terror attack.
Robinson’s supporters claim that he’s a journalist, but journalism is about digging up relevant facts and putting them in context, so the reader has a better understanding of the world. Robinson’s ‘journalism’ is all about misrepresentation and taking things out of context, leading his supporters further away from understanding the world as it is.
Tommy Robinson is a hate preacher, every bit as much as Abu Hamza. He should have a certain amount of freedom to spew his factually untrue claims, but it’s good news that Facebook are going to stop helping him to expand his reach.

On what basis are you saying that Robinson is in “the business of truth”?
His main claim is scapegoating Muslims/Asians as rapists. From my understanding the best available data is that around 27% of rapists who were part of grooming gangs are Asian, and about 4% of rapists in general.

Do you have evidence that Robinson is telling the truth? Or is he in the business of lies?

That doesn’t prove that he’s telling the truth. Do you have any evidence that Robinson’s claims are truthful, as opposed to libeling and misrepresenting minority groups?
